Main aim of project

The Project is to re-furbish St Michael’s Cloonacool Community Centre Ltd into a modern new facility in the village to give a boost to the Volunteers who run it and enjoyment to the people who use the facility!

 Our new Centre will be a shining light in the village on its completion for future generations.

 The plan is to demolish part of the existing building and the construction of a new extension to the side and rear of the existing building and all ancillary site works 

Refurbishment & Dry Lining of Centre.  Addition of new Windows, Doors, Floors, Toilets, Kitchen, Dressing room, Meeting room, Storage areas, Heating, Fitted Kitchen, Furniture, etc 

Social Dividend:                                

The local community will benefit by having a new comfortable Centre in which to carry on local occasions and the traditional activities. 

 The committee and volunteers will benefit by having a more modern facility in which to promote a programme of events.

 The Centre will continue to operate as a Community meeting point

 The Centre will remain in the future to provide a service to the community

 Improvement of and access to local services

 Natural and social environment    

Our Beneficiaries:

Our existing users are the people of the Parish/Community and surrounding areas. 

 The user age group covers locally based community groups with the complete age profile from pre-school right through to senior citizens.

 New facilities will further improve linkages with wider community and surrounding areasand will be in use all year round  

Other services can be provided within the new modern facility   

How will the centre develop?

The Committee will organise a programme of events during the year. E.g. Summer Festival, Card Games. Drama, Children’s Parties, Annual Senior Citizen Party, etc  

Capital Investment will enhance building

 Impact on local community by increasing use of centre 

Additional local facilities will increase activity levels in the village 

 Grants Received:

We have received a grant of €150,000.00 from Co Sligo LEADER Partnership to assist in the refurbishment of the Centre. 

We now need to raise €60,000 approximately to complete the work

 Fundraising activities will be increased over the coming years

Donations towards the refurbishment works in the Centre welcome!
